Testimonials:

I wish I had taken this course years ago.  I have often listened to our Operators ask to shoot more often. Mr. Stanley could exponentially enhance our time spent on the range. This guy is one of the best firearms instructors I have worked with. He is able to demonstrate what he is teaching in an extremely convincing manner.  – “DK” USAF, from after action report.

Eric, Thanks for a great weekend… A ton of great info to digest and regurgitate into better habits.  It was A+ instruction. Passing your name on to my shooting buddies.  I had a great time and I am a better shooter because of the class.  - Grattan Heyward

I have personally known and shot with Eric for 10 years.   As a 16 year law enforcement SWAT officer, I can tell you he is a world class shooter.  He has a personality that puts people at ease.  The classes are fun and the learning process is high.  He not only tells you how to execute a technique, he shows you.  The only thing that will happen if you train with Eric is that you will enjoy the experience and become a better shooter.  - Ron B.

I've taken a lot of firearms/weapons instruction over the past 15 years, most from well known and respected professionals ranging from schools including Gunsite to people including Todd Jarrett, a multiple-time world and national IPSC champion.  It gives me a frame of reference to compare Eric to.

What you get with Eric is a GM class IPSC shooter (which means he has superb shooting skills), but who also has great teaching skills, "people skills",  and communications skills.   Finding someone who can both perform a skill and teach others effectively how to perform it is not very common.  Teaching is a performing art, and Eric does it very well.

You could go to a big name school and pay a lot more for a lot less.... we better not let the word out on this! In the mean time, I'll be taking his classes.

Eric

I enjoyed your course very much. It was great spending two days with you and my training buddies.  The individual post training critique was just what I needed to help me progress.  Just the analysis of my draw alone was worth the two day effort.

What would I tell other shooters?

Eric puts the shooter at ease with his friendly demeanor and teaching style.

Eric is a keen observer.  He watches, analyzes and suggests improvements to the smallest areas of the shooters performance that need improvement.

If you want to improve your shooting performance, regardless of your present level of expertise, Eric can help you.  Besides grounding you in solid, proven techniques Eric will examine your individual needs and demonstrate how you can shoot better.

Jim Thomas, (New IDPA Master!!)

The characteristic that anyone will notice right away is Eric's ability to explain techniques in a way that is easy to visualize and understand. He teaches simple, yet very effective techniques that will improve your shooting skills. He can help you explore and tap into your shooting potential by running drills that range from simple to challenging, dissecting your execution and emphasizing on the "little" things that make a marked difference. After spending two days in his class, I walked away with a clear understanding of what I need to improve, but more importantly, how to improve. All it takes is the commitment to practice these techniques and your skills will be elevated to new levels. - J. Sanabria

Eric Stanley is a consummate shooter. He is always pushing himself forward, refining all aspects of the art of practical pistol craft. A natural communicator, Eric is particularly adept at breaking down those components for shooters of all abilities and backgrounds, thereby increasing their skill sets dramatically.

I enjoy training with Eric and get something new out of every session. When you train with Eric you will see first hand what separates the top class from the rest. Most importantly, you will take away a clear understanding of how to expand your own limits.

Eric,

I want to take this opportunity to thank you for the great training.

As someone who has devoted my life to teaching on every level--from high school to graduate level students, I believe I have some insight in to what makes a good instructor and an effective learning presentation.  Your class offered both.

The way you organized the instruction, your attention to each student, your constant positive encouragement and consistent re-enforcement were all excellent.  I could see progress by the end of the class, and as I continue to practice the drills you suggested, I see my ability continue to increase.

You did a great job, and I would recommend this class to anyone—LEO / Military, IDPA or IPSC.

Thank you for a terrific training experience.

Eric Stanley's method of teaching involves assessing and then challenging the student's personal skill level and skill set in a way that will surprise and motivate. His drills foster improvement through patience, discipline and consistency. Great instruction and a tough workout.  - Chris C. former US Army Ranger.

 Hi Eric,

Thanks for two days of excellent training.  I'm sure your training and advice will get me back on the road to B Class and beyond. When other folks ask me about the class, I tell them the following:

If you subscribe to the theory that shooting IPSC is "ballet with guns", then Eric Stanley is your man.  He will teach you how to move, not just how to shoot.  Learning how to get in and out of position smoothly and, therefore, quickly is as important as marksmanship. Although he does not claim to teach tactics, or be a tactician, what he teaches with regard to movement can, and should, be used and integrated with tactics by an IDPA shooter, a soldier, a policeman or armed citizen.

I also found that Eric has a good eye (as you would expect) for spotting what the individual student needs to do, or maybe stop doing, to improve his shooting.  He tailors training recommendations for the individual's style and ability. As an example, he advised me to slowdown, get my hits (points), shoot groups, and forget "double taps" until I get better control. Yet, he advised another student (who by the way is already an accomplished shooter) to speed it up and get more on the edge.

Finally, I've already seen results with the two days of training, but, more importantly, I now have a better plan for training to achieve my goals.

Dean Plumer

I have practiced and trained with Eric several times over the past two years. His knowledge, energy, and ability to pinpoint areas for improvement are outstanding. I make a point to go and see him a couple times a year to keep making the progress towards my shooting goals.

Eric,

I really enjoyed your class this weekend!  I took a lot of good information from it.  I used to think I was a decent shot until I started shooting IPSC matches.

I know I have my work cut out for me, but thanks to your class, I now have a solid foundation to work from.  I know with the information you gave me I will begin to grow even further as a shooter and I intend to get <my son> in one of your classes soon.

I would recommend your class to both sport shooters and law enforcement officers.  The skills you teach will not only help in competition but will be of great value in my work.

Thanks,

Bill C.
